Will I need a phone line to use it?
No phone line is needed since you will be connected to the internet using radio frequency equipment.
Do I need a satellite dish for this service?
No dish is required, but an outdoor antenna may be required if you are not close enough to the signal source.
How far from the signal source can I be and get service?
It depends on how clear a view you have to the source. A clear line of sight will allow you to connect from up to 5 miles away from the source. Trees and buildings will weaken the signal and reduce the effective distance.
Will the weather disrupt my service?
Unlike satellite service which loses service during storms, this service uses radio frequency technology so it is not interrupted by dense clouds during a heavy rain. Lightning can cause static, however, your service will not be disrupted because the equipment will work to maintain the connection and resend any data if necessary.
Do I need anything else to get service?
Your computer must have an Ethernet card or one can be provided and installed for an additional $25 charge.
